Donnie Green, self-taught/visionary artist was born on August 28, 1964 in Richmond, Virginia. Donnie flunked art class and dropped out of high school in 1982 to pursue interests in the world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Only after sinking into the murky depths of rock and roll depravity was Donnie swallowed whole and regurgitated from the rock and roll beast. By 1997, having temporarily abandoned his reckless ways, Donnie sought comfort in the arms of an old friend...painting.

Since 1997, Donnie has created a body of work that is of a jaw-dropping magnitude, combining influences of Celtic art, mystical symbolism, dream images, and scenes from his own, sometimes misunderstood life. Donnie Green's mysterious, boldly colorful and beautifully rendered oil paintings seem to pull the viewer inside and drag them through an uncharted journey through the corridors of his intense, multidimensional human psyche.

Donnie has shown his work in several group and solo exhibitions, been featured in local and regional publications and has made a television appearence with his controversial paintings. In 2003, Donnie organized and curated "RICHMOND'S FIRST UNDERGROUND ARTS FESTIVAL".
